SUSWA FIELD WORK JANUARY 2025: DAY 1

The ongoing week long implementation of project activities in Suswa for the purposes of expansion was off to a great start. 12 children were assessed for eligibility to be enrolled into the project. 11 out of the 12 who had faced child labor qualified for enrollment.
Upon monitoring of 13 existing beneficiaries, impact was realized. 1 beneficiary in particular shared that over the the holidays, he practiced speaking good grammar, which had greatly improved since last year. This showed the great zeal and need for a good education in the children.
The Life Bloom team procured the support of community counselors to offer counseling to existing and new beneficiaries.
Out of 5 existing beneficiaries who were reported to be absent since the term began, 2 children were facing abandonment back home. The older sibling opted for marriage since taking care of her 3 younger siblings was an unbearable task to take on. This left her younger sister, to bear the burden of caring for their two younger siblings.
Through one beneficiary and a teacher, the news reached the Life Bloom team to support in changing the children’s situation. Through partnerships with teachers and community leaders, all the existing and new beneficiaries will receive the support they need for a successful future.
