On Monday, Life Bloom’s team attended an information dissemination meeting in Nakuru, following a data collection exercise that was conducted by Kenya Law in partnership with ForumCIV in October 2023. The data collection exercise was conducted in three counties, namely; Narok, Kajiado and Nakuru, to identify gaps in policies being implemented in our counties which affect us in one way or another, those that need further implementation, amendment and enactment.
The feedback given was that 27.3% of the data collected came Gender stakeholders and Persons Living with Disabilities (PWDs). It was also found out that public participation in policy making currently stands at 69.6%.
To strengthen capacity for the counties towards effective policy formulation and legislation through Public-Private Development Partnerships (PPDP), the participants in the Monday meeting requested that Kenya Law provide capacity building trainings for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), to enable them educate the community widely on public participation and policy formulation, and also for CSOs to have a better understanding of the entire process.
