Our CEO Catherine Wanjohi participated in the National Forum Convened by Equality Now for Civil Society Organizations to actively participate in discussing the proposed amendments of the Counter Trafficking in Persons (CTiP) Act. During the forum, she shared about Life Bloom’s work with partners like Court Users Committee (CUC) at Naivasha Law Courts and creation of awareness among first responders like Chiefs, Community Health Promoters (CHPs) and Nyumba Kumi.
The objective of the forum was to discuss the proposed law reforms on existing laws (the counter Trafficking in Persons Act, Sexual Offences Act) and opportunities for further collaboration to enhance the fights against Trafficking in Persons (TiP) and Sex Trafficking. Over the years, Life Bloom has been actively engaged in the review of the laws and advocates for reviews to also be done at the community level.
Through meaningful partnerships, Life Bloom will continue advocating for the end of sexual exploitation at the grass root level.
