Over the past month, Life Bloom embarked on offering one on one and group counseling for school going children within Naivasha. After the Mai Mahiu disaster, we observed and discovered a gap, where children are often forgotten as a population that faces psychological challenges too. We sought to bridge this gap by focusing on counseling for children to curb the recently increasing cases of psychological challenges arising in children.
The Generosity for Girls Fund project funded by Equality Now paved way for us to create partnerships with head teachers in the schools within the project. These schools include; Lake View Primary School, Kabati Primary School, Manera Primary School among others.
So far, we have been able to offer counseling for hundreds of pupils. This was made possible by our pool of counselors from the recently graduated community counseling class 2024.
