16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM: DAY 9

Life Bloom’s program is guided by the United Nations definition on Human Trafficking as the act of recruiting, transporting, or receiving people through force, fraud, or deception for the purpose of exploitation. Human trafficking often has fundamental dynamics of power, control, inequality, and human rights abuse. These fundamental properties create a favorable ground for Gender Based Violence to take place in form of sexual violence, Physical violence, Economic Violence and Psychological violence.
Something you can do as a champion against Gender Based Violence is to familiarize yourself with the Kenya Laws that fight against GBV. Some of these include:
– Counter-Trafficking in Persons Act 2022
– The Protection Against Domestic Violence Act 2015
– The Prohibition of Female Genital Mutilation Act 2011
