The Life Bloom team has been implementing programs in Suswa Narok County, to recruit children exposed to early marriages, Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and child labor due to the high levels of poverty and illiteracy present there. The projects have involved recruiting the vulnerable children, recruiting peer mentors, promoting awareness on practices against children’s rights, and offering one on one counseling and/or group counseling sessions to the children.
With these initiatives, the children get hope of having a better future despite the backgrounds they come from, and through education and mentorship, they are able to acquire knowledge on why some of these community practices affect them negatively.
This brings about action, and thus change!
