There is an increase in demand for counselling among children, mainly those who experienced violations of many forms including sexual and child labour, and children abandoned or neglected etc. With unaddressed trauma and fear the children manifest the need through their behavior and academic performance. For some, their lives and worlds literally shut down!
We have a personal and shared responsibility to support the children so that they can embrace and receive themselves with love, forgiveness, gifts and build their confidence to pursue the lives of their dreams.
Life Bloom@20 has committed to offer counselling to 1000 children in and out of school. To offer them a platform on which they can reclaim their childhood freedom! This is a very fulfilling program that is already ongoing, thanks to our pool of counsellors, both staff and Community Counsellors trained through Life Bloom.
To upscale our skills and experiences, our staff member team leading Counselling Department, Caroline Muguongo, and 5 of our Community Counsellors have successfully undertaken a 3 days Trauma Counselling training for children at Cornerstone preparatory academy.
The practical skills will upgrade our skills in giving the children the support they need and deserve!
