UNITY IS STRENGTH!
10 visionary women came together in Suswa to empower themselves economically by starting a chicken rearing project with support from Life Bloom and the local leaders. Support from local leaders, who are majorly men, went a long way in giving the women determination to start and see the project through to its continuity.
The project was meant to improve the livelihoods of the women, and also, to serve as therapy for their daily stresses. Currently, they have a total of 14 chicken, with one that has hatched 4 chicks. Furthermore, they have built housing for their chicken in one of the women’s compounds. This gives them the opportunity to encourage each other, and watch each other grow.
